Robin Hood Airport seeks more routes
27.09.10
Representatives from Robin Hood Airport travelled across the Atlantic earlier this month in a bid to find more routes. A delegation from the airport went to talk to airlines from across the world at the 16th World Route Development Forum in Vancouver, Canada.
The annual event brings together representatives from hundreds of airports and airlines from across the globe and is seen as the meeting place for the world's route development industry. It gives the representatives the chance to make contacts with airlines and explore what route development opportunities might be available.
Airport spokesman Robin Tudor said: ‘The event can best be described as 'speed dating' for airports and airlines. If the airlines like what we have to say in our brief sales pitch, then a relationship can be established that can lead to more business in the future.'
‘It is great to speak face to face with airlines from all over the world in an extremely cost effective way and get the message across to them about all the great things happening in the Sheffield city region.’
