A Royal Caribbean International fly-cruise is to be offered from Robin Hood Airport. The line is to offer a charter flight from the airport to join the ship Vision of the Seas in the Dominican Republic on March 15, 2009.
The cruise itinerary covers nine ports of call including Guadeloupe, Martinique, Barbados, St Lucia, St Maarten, Margarita Island and Aruba, with prices from £1245 per person based on an inside cabin.
A spokesman for the cruise line said that cruising is one of the most popular holiday types for people in Sheffield, with the city second only to Southampton in having more cruise passengers than anywhere else in the UK.
Royal Caribbean's UK and Ireland managing director Jo Rzymowska said: 'With more direct long haul flights becoming available from regional hubs, we become more attractive to potential cruise holidaymakers.'
