Man charged over Robin Hood Airport twitter ‘bomb threat’

A man who posted an 'airport bomb threat' on Twitter has been charged with sending a menacing message, police said. Paul Chambers, 26, of Byram Court in Balby, Doncaster, was due to fly from Robin Hood Airport in January. He was arrested on suspicion of communicating a bomb hoax after a post on the website about blowing up the airport was reported to police.
Mr Chambers made the comment on January 6 after snowfall threatened to delay his plans to travel to Ireland on January 15. He wrote: ‘Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together, otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!!’
He is due before Doncaster Magistrates' Court today. South Yorkshire Police said: ‘A 26-year-old Doncaster man has been charged with sending by public communications network a message that was grossly offensive, or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character contrary to section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.’ And 'no' we are not making this up!
