Jet unable to land at Robin Hood Airport
15.05.07
Passengers flying from Dublin to Robin Hood Airport were diverted to Manchester after rain and wind prevented their plane from landing last night. Their pilot on the Ryanair flight attempted to land twice at the airport during torrential rain and strong winds at around 21:25, but was forced to abort and divert to Manchester Airport.
The diversion meant passengers had to endure a long trip back across the Pennines by bus in order to get back to Robin Hood Airport. They finally arrived in Doncaster at around 02:00 this morning. The return Robin Hood to Dublin flight was cancelled and passengers were offered refunds or alternative flights.
