Ryanair axe Robin Hood – Alicante flights
13.04.11
Ryanair has axed a route between Robin Hood Airport and the popular sunshine resort of Alicante following a row over cash with Spanish airport bosses.
The budget airline, which claims it is being forced to pay €2million by Alicante Airport for using air bridges, will axe more than two thirds of its flights in and out of the airport from October 2011. It means Robin Hood’s summer timetable to the Costa Blanca city, which runs until October, will continue as planned. However, there will be no winter flights unless the row is resolved.
