Pilot praised over flight emergency at Robin Hood Airport

The pilot who dealt with flight emergency on a flight from Robin Hood Airport to Portugal has been praised for 'doing everything by the book'.
The emergency alert was triggered at Robin Hood Airport after the Boeing 737 plane was hit by a bird at take off. The bird flew into the engine of the Thomsonfly flight to Faro, Portugal, on Monday which had to return to the terminal.
Emergency crews were called to the scene and put on standby in case of any danger. Product Development and Communications Manager, Steve Adamson, explained why the emergency measures had to be taken. He said: 'The aircraft crew followed the procedure for such a situation and the aircraft landed safely at Robin Hood Airport soon afterwards.'
