Talks on new bus services for Robin Hood Airport

Talks are under way about introducing a direct bus service between Sheffield and Robin Hood Airport. The service could also provide a link between Rotherham and the airport.

The scheme is considered important because of the airport's 'strategic regional importance', according to an authority report, although it is also conceded that any service would be likely to attract relatively few passengers. The new route would require a subsidy and discussions are ongoing between the transport authority and Yorkshire Forward.
