New foreign currency company at Prestwick Airport

Prestwick Airport owner Infratil has announced that it has reached agreement with The Change Group to provide passengers with currency exchange services at the hub. The company was appointed from a shortlist of potential operators when the foreign exchange business was tendered at the end of last year. They will commence trading on February 1.
At Prestwick Airport The Change Group will take over and refit the existing landside unit and also introduce a new expanded unit in the departure lounge area so that passengers have access to full foreign exchange facilities both landside and airside. They will replace Travelex, who have provided the currency exchange services at Prestwick Airport for a number of years.
Graeme Sweenie, Manager Commercial and Property for Infratil Airports, said: 'We are very excited about this new opportunity, particularly as it will offer our passengers an airside currency exchange facility at Prestwick. We have been impressed by The Change Group’s enthusiasm about this venture, as well as their track record of providing exceptional customer service at all their locations, and we look forward to working with them.'
Formed in 1992, The Change Group has become one of the world leaders in its field with a presence in Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia. They are an independent, primarily high street, retailer and are keen to get involved in the low cost airport market that mainly
operates from regional airports.
A provisional deal was also agreed with another of Infratil’s airports, Kent International Airport, where The Change Group will start operating when the number of international passengers using the airport passes the 500,000 mark.
