Stranded Ryanair passengers on Paris - Prestwick Airport flight get 10p refund
21.11.05
Angry passengers on a Ryanair Paris - Prestwick airport flight left stranded in France have been offered refunds of just 10p.
More than 150 were marooned at fog-hit Paris Beauvais Airport when their Ryanair service to Prestwick was cancelled. Passengers last night told how check-in staff offered refunds of 10p - the price of the return flight - when they complained about Saturday's cancellation.
Twenty flights in and out of the UK were cancelled when fog shut down Paris Beauvais, the smallest of the city's airports. More than 1200 passengers from Britain were caught up in the chaos.
A spokesman for Ryanair last night apologised for the problems which were 'outside our control'. He added: 'Passengers affected have been offered full refunds or we have been trying to accommodate them on the first flight available.'
