Charity to fly from Prestwick Airport

A leading children's charity has announced it will operate a special flight from Prestwick Airport again this year. When You Wish Upon A Star revealed it will be embarking on an important mission to visit Father Christmas, and will touch down in Rovaniemi in Lapland on December 17.
The event is in its third year and the charity is looking to raise £70,000 to make dreams come true for several hundred special boys and girls this Christmas. Locals are being encouraged to help raise money in a number of ways, including The Great Santa Ayr Run on December 7 at Ayr Raceground.
Last year's Santa Express took the group of children to an exclusive winter wonderland where they played in the snow and met Father Christmas himself very near to his home.
