Flights boost at Prestwick Airport after terror alert

It's an ill wind that blows no one good. Prestwick Airport's owners have announced that is handling many more flights since the terrorist attack that has closed Glasgow Airport.
Infratil said that Glasgow Prestwick, as it likes to be called, has been handling some of the flights diverted from the main Glasgow airport after Saturday's terror attack. There had been a 'massive' increase in flights and passengers at Prestwick in the past few days, Infratil chief executive Lloyd Morrison said.
Mr Morrison said: 'A number of charter flights have been leaving from Glasgow Prestwick.' Budget airline easyJet also switched its flights to the airport. He said that Prestwick had handled the influx well, bringing in extra staff from other Infratil-owned airports to help cope.
Amongst those who switched their flights to Prestwick Airport were Celtic. The football club switched their Switzerland flight from Glasgow to Prestwick yesterday, in a bid to take some pressure off the city's airport in the aftermath of Saturday's terrorist attack.
