Plymouth Airport land sale
06.07.09
Land at Plymouth City Airport has been sold for at least £11.8 million to an unnamed housing developer, The Herald reports. The Sutton Harbour Group, which operates the airport on a 150-year lease from Plymouth City Council, said it would use some of the money to give the airport a multi-million-pound facelift.
The sale of the surplus land will be phased over the next 3 years with the first phase, completed yesterday, releasing 4.2 acres in exchange for £2.7 million. Further tranches of the airport land have been agreed to be sold during the next three years to the same developer for an additional aggregate amount of at least £9.1 million.
