Nottingham East Midlands Airport draft plan delayed

The publication of a draft 'masterplan', outlining Nottingham East Midlands Airport's proposals for expansion over the next 25 years has been delayed.
It was planned that the airport would begin consulting the public over the plan at the end of this month. However, it has been decided that the publication of the plan will be delayed until January.
Managing director Penny Coates said the decision was made to avoid exhibitions and displays of the plan clashing with Christmas events. She said: 'I am absolutely committed to ensuring that we properly engage with the wider community over our development plans. This will enable this to happen.'
The plan is likely to include plans for a new runway and proposals on how it plans to deal with noise pollution. Following the publication of the plan, the airport will consult with residents over its content for three months.
