05.12.05
Discount clothing chain Primark has chartered some of the world's biggest planes to fly fashion supplies into the UK. The move comes after half its stock was wiped out in a fire last month.
Antonov 225 and 124-100 aircraft - developed for the Russian military and with enough space to carry more than 60 cars - will fly into Nottingham East Midlands airport laden with clothing from Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dhaka. It will be the second time in less than a week that an Antonov used the airport.
Primark's Lutterworth warehouse in Leicestershire, was destroyed by fire on November 2. The company's suppliers in the Far East stepped up production to make replacements.
