Local furniture manufacturer Multiyork has provided £20,000 worth of contemporary seating, while the other £10,000 has been contributed by Norwich Travel Retail which operates the lounge.
Norwich airport MD, Richard Jenner, said: ‘The airport plays a key role in our region’s economy, enabling inbound and outbound travel for business and leisure travellers alike. We want to ensure that our programme of investment at the airport benefits the local economy too, which is why we work with local suppliers such as Multiyork where we can.'
According to Norwich Travel Retail MD Gary Myhill, around 3,000 people use the lounge every month and about 85% of these are business travellers. He said: ‘We’ve had good feedback so far from users – it’s definitely a comfortable place where you’d want to spend a lot of time.'
