Air Livery buys Norwich Airport based rival

Aircraft spray-painting specialist Air Livery has acquired its Norwich Airport based competitor Sprayavia in a move which will create the largest independent operator in Europe.
Air Livery, which is based at Southend Airport, also has operations at Filton near Bristol, East Midlands Airport and staff based at Cambridge Airport. Sprayavia, which has around 50 staff and a turnover of around £5m operates from three hangars at Norwich Airport. It has been growing steadily over the past few years, with a wide range of customers including BA, bmi, KLM and China NorthWest.
Adrian Tucker, managing director of Air Livery said: This acquisition will allow us to further spread our wings making the company the largest independent aircraft refinishing provider in Europe. This will provide excellent opportunities for the business and all the employees at Air Livery and Sprayavia.'
Mr Tucker said in the short term the business structures would remain the same, but over the next six months the two companies would be would be merged and operate under the Air Livery brand name.
