Flybe scrap Norwich – Exeter flights
19.07.08
Norwich Airport's biggest airline has scrapped another route over the coming winter, blaming soaring fuel costs and the airport tax increase. Flybe has confirmed flights between Norwich and Exeter will be suspended from September 22 until next year, when they will resume in late March or early April for the summer.
Flybe's chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, blamed the increase in Norwich Airport's controversial airport development fee, levied at all customers to raise money to invest in facilities, from £3 to £5 this year and rocketing fuel prices for the decision.
It is the latest of a number of routes that has been scrapped by Flybe over the past year, coming on top of direct flights to Spanish destinations, Paris and Glasgow and reduced services to Guernsey.
