Flybe starts new baggage charge

A charge levied on passengers travelling with budget airline Flybe if they check luggage into the hold has came into force yesterday. Customers will have to pay £2 for each bag put in the hold if this is booked at the time the ticket is booked, or £4 per bag if not.
Critics claim they will lead to longer queues in airport terminals and safety could be compromised. The airline says says tickets will be £1 less, the hand baggage allowance will be doubled and it will offer a fairer deal for its customers.
