Newcastle Airport parking upgraded

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS) have begun the process of upgrading Newcastle Airport's parking facilities after the airport took the management of its car parks back in house. Equipment used to manage the car parking will be progressively replaced over the next year.
ACS have already started the project, replacing 24 electronic barriers. Four new pay stations - in two pairs at either end of the terminal building for domestic and international passengers - have also been installed. Two further pay stations located undercover by the short stay car park are also up and running.
The airport currently provides 6000 long and short-term spaces across two main car parks. It has increased its airport parking capacity by 90 percent in the last five years. Future plans including the introduction of licence plate recognition for pre-booked customers later this year.
