Aer Lingus to reintroduce Dublin – Newcastle flights
20.06.08
Aer Lingus is to reintroduce flights between Dublin and Newcastle Airport this winter. Five flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) will operate between the two destinations from October 26.
Aer Lingus said the new service would provide customers from the North-East a gateway to Ireland and Irish customers greater access to the North East of England, which has proven popular with football fans in the past, including those wanting to support Nial Quinn and Roy Keane at Sunderland.
Chris Sanders, of Newcastle Airport, said ‘We are delighted that Aer Lingus is reintroducing its service to Dublin this winter. The route is our busiest international low cost route and has become very popular for business and leisure trips in both directions. These additional flights will greatly benefit business and tourism activities at each end of the route.’
