The former British Airways computer specialist convicted of plotting with the American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki to carry out a terrorist attack has been jailed for 30 years.
Rajib Karim, 31, from Bangladesh, was convicted last month of four counts of preparing for acts of terrorism. He had already pleaded guilty to five other terrorism related offenses, but denied plotting an attack in the UK. Justice David Calvert-Smith recommended that Mr. Karim be deported after completing his sentence.
