Suspended Newcastle Airport boss resigns
18.05.07
The chief executive of Newcastle Airport has resigned. John Parkin had been temporarily relieved of his duties by the company which runs the airport in late March. The resignation follows a continuing investigation being carried out into 'certain personal contractual issues' by the airport.
A spokeswoman for the airport said it was unable to make further comment on the resignation because of 'the legal nature of the ongoing investigation, adding: 'Mr Parkin's resignation does not affect or impact on the ongoing inquiry.'
The airport's commercial director, David Laws, will continue to carry out the former chief executive's duties.
