easyJet passengers stranded at Newcastle Airport

easyJet has apologised to hundreds of passengers after leaving them stranded at Newcastle Airport yesterday.
A problem with the luggage conveyor belts at Newcastle Airport yesterday meant airport staff had to carry bags to and from planes, causing long delays. The budget airline therefore decided that four flights, including to Bristol, should take off with only a handful of passengers on board so as not to cause more delays.
A spokesman for the airline apologised to passengers and said that they were offered transfers by coach or a seat on the next available flight.
