Emirates happy with ticket sales on Newcastle Airport route

The first long-haul service from out of Newcastle Airport has already been justified by advance ticket sales ahead of its launch next month, it has been reported.
Laurie Berryman, manager of Emirates UK North, the airline which will launch the new Newcastle to Dubai route on September 1, told the Sunderland Echo that the northeastern public has responded well to the new service. Over 2,000 people have booked up for the new route, which links the airport to a number of destinations in the Far East and beyond via Emirates Middle East hub.
Mr. Berryman said: 'We've had a fantastic response to the launch. The first two flights have sold out in record time, filling up more than two months in advance - the best sales we've ever had for a UK launch.'
