Worker killed at Newcastle Airport

A worker has died following an accident at Newcastle Airport, the BBC reports. The 50-year-old, who has not been named, was working on the apron - the area where aircraft is refuelled or boarded - when the accident happened.
An investigation is being carried out by Northumbria Police and the Health and Safety Executive. A spokesperson for the airport said flights were operating as normal following the incident early on Friday and that it will cooperate fully with the investigation.
