BA in reported emergency at Newcastle Airport
08.01.07
A British Airways aircraft is reported to have had a problem on landing at Newcastle last night. A passenger has reported that emergency services trailed the plane as it landed, and it remained on the taxiway for 15 minutes whilst it was checked over.
The passengers says that the BA 737 plane on a flight from Heathrow airport 'seemed to have a problem stopping after landing and it sounded like full reverse thrust was applied. This was followed by a very loud bang.'
The aircraft was then followed by the emergency services and remained on the taxiway for about 15 minutes. A spokesman for BA and Newcastle Airport was not immediately available for comment.
