Newcastle - Dubai flights take off

Emirates launched flights between Dubai and Newcastle Airport yesterday. The airline Middle Eastern will run the daily, long-haul service from the North East airport to the United Arab Emirates.
The flights to the airline's main hub will also open routes to 80 other long-haul destinations, including Australia, New Zealand and Africa, to travellers. Emirates UK regional manager Laurie Berryman said: 'We're absolutely delighted with how the introduction of this route has been met by the people of the North East'.
The service will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 27 business and 251 economy class seats.
