Almost 300,000 fly out from Manchester Airport

More than 284,000 people will pass though Manchester Airport this weekend. Despite planned strike action, the airport is confident that there will be no disruptions to passengers travelling through and has advised them to come to the airport as normal.
Passenger numbers are expected to be slightly down compared with the August bank holiday in 2008, due to the economic current climate. Nevertheless 284,000 travelers will mean a busy airport that has recently had an £80 million overhaul across all three terminals.
