Another plane and 60 jobs at Manchester Airport for easyJet
30.05.09
easyJet will create around 60 jobs when it bases its third aircraft at Manchester Airport. The budget airline will use the new £20m Airbus A320 to fly four to new European destinations.
Carly Brear, easyJet's UK commercial manager, said: ‘The launch of the new aircraft enables us to increase our routes from 5 to 12, expanding the choice for customers.’ The airline announced new routes to Corfu, Athens, Dalaman in Turkey and Bastia in Corsica earlier this year, but brought forward the introduction from August to meet passenger demand.
Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport managing director, said: ‘The addition of this aircraft to the Manchester fleet highlights the continuing importance the airline places on their Manchester operation and the confidence that they have in us despite the tough economic conditions.’
