easyJet has announced that it will launch flights between Manchester Airport and Alicante in the Autumn. The budget airline, which only launched flights from Manchester last month after taking over GB Airways, will launch the four times a week service on September 29.
easyJet expects to carry almost 60,000 passengers on the route in the first 12 months of operation, with flights already for sale from £27.99 one way including taxes. Its UK commercial manager, Carly Brear, said: ‘This is the first new route easyJet has introduced to its new Manchester base and we look forward to further expansion in the near future.'
Tim McDermott, director of aviation at Manchester Airport, said: ‘We are delighted that easyJet is already boosting its destinations from Manchester with the announcement of this new route. There is a fantastic buzz around the arrival of easyJet at the airport and we expect high passenger demand for this popular route.’
