Manchester Airport launch carbon offset scheme
28.03.09
Passengers flying from Manchester Airport are now able to offset their carbon emissions after a new scheme was launched on the airport's website. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has already committed itself to tackling the emissions generated by its operation and set a carbon neutral target for the energy used in its buildings, airfield and car parks and the fuel used in its vehicles.
Passengers travelling from Manchester Airport now have the opportunity to offset the carbon cost of their flights via www.manchesterairport.co.uk/carbonoffset. Penny Coates, executive board member with responsibility for the environment at MAG, said: ‘We're taking a proactive role. We want to encourage passengers to use a carbon offset scheme and so we now offer the facility through all of our websites right across the group.’
