Thirty passengers were evacuated from a Flybe plane on to a runway at Manchester Airport yesterday, after the plane had to make an emergency landing. No one was injured in the incident.
Passengers on the Flybe flight from Birmingham to Aberdeen reported smelling smoke, prompting the pilot to land at Manchester at 08:05 yesterday. Operations at the airport were suspended for 15 minutes whilst the passengers were evacuated and the fire service inspected the plane. After they could not find a fire, the airport returned to normal operations.
