American launch mobile boarding passes at Manchester Airport
22.09.10
Passengers catching flights from Manchester Airport with American Airlines can now use its mobile boarding programme. Manchester is one of six international airports that have been added to the airline's mobile boarding scheme, along with Barcelona, Rome Fiumicino, Frankfurt, Milan Malpensa and Zurich.
Initially launched in 2008, the airline only began offering the service at Heathrow in June, and it is now available on flights from 50 locations around the world. American Airlines customers flying from Manchester can now check-in online and have their boarding pass sent to their internet enabled mobile phone.
The airline operates regular flights to Chicago and New York from Manchester airport.
Passengers who check in online and wish to print a paper boarding pass are still able to do so.
