18 hour delay after plane hit by air bridge at Manchester Airport

A Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration G-MDBD performing flight MT36 from Manchester Airport to Cancun (Mexico), was hit by an air bridge on Saturday, the Aviation Herald reports. The airplane later departed with approximately 18 hours delay. It is understood that passengers spent the night at an airport hotel.
A spokesman for Thomas Cook Airlines told website: ‘Thomas Cook Airlines can confirm that there was a minor incident at Manchester Airport on May 17 involving an aircraft and an air bridge. There was a delay whilst engineering checks were carried out. As soon as these checks were completed, the aircraft departed.’
