Manchester Airport gets ready for the Christmas rush

Manchester Airport is gearing up for the Christmas rush as more than half a million passengers pass through its terminals between Friday, December 21 and Tuesday, January 1, 2008.
The Christmas take off will see 270,000 passengers pass through the terminals in just five days, starting tomorrow. Saturday (December 22) is expected to be the busiest day, with 58,000 passengers catching flights.
The most popular warm holiday destination for travellers from Manchester is Tenerife with Alicante and Malaga coming second and third. The most popular long haul destinations are Las Vegas and Dubai, with short breaks to Paris, Rome and Bergen in the north of Norway popular for international travellers and Belfast, London and Scotland popular for domestic fliers.
