SATA International adds Manchester - Azores flight
14.03.08
Manchester Airport is to gain a flight to the Azores this summer. SATA International will start flights from May 3 as an extension of a service from Ponta Delgada to Gatwick each Saturday.
Currently the airline runs two Airbus A320 flights between Gatwick and Ponta Delgada in the Azores - each Tuesday and Saturday. The new service will be created by extending the existing Saturday service, which will now serve both Manchester and Gatwick.
A spokesman for SATA International said: ‘We are delighted to be bringing the Azores closer to the 28 million people in the Manchester Airport catchment area. The Azores is increasingly popular with the UK public, particularly with golfers.'
