easyJet is to base a fifth aircraft at Manchester Airport and add three new flights, taking the number of routes it serves to 19. The additional plane will operate three new routes to Mahon (Menorca), Sharm el Sheik and Zurich from next Spring.
Only last month, the budget airline announced the addition of a fourth aircraft at Manchester that would enable it to increase capacity on existing services to Alicante, Athens, Cyprus and Tenerife, as well as running extra flights during the February half-term to destinations including Malaga. A new four times a week service from Manchester to Helsinki in Finland also starts next February.
Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK regional manager, said: ‘Our base at Manchester Airport has been a particular success story and the response from travellers in the region has been fantastic. easyJet now offers a choice of 19 routes from Manchester to a range of key business centres as well as sunshine and ski destinations.’
