Lufthansa mobile boarding pass for Manchester Airport
10.12.08
German airline Lufthansa has chosen Manchester Airport to launch its new mobile phone boarding pass, it has announced. Passengers will be able to use the technology on all flights to Germany and ongoing journeys, from later this month.
The boarding pass in the form of a barcode is sent to passengers’ mobile phones by text before they get to the airport. The technology then allows passengers to board the plane without any need to print documents.
The airline operates 84 flights a week from Manchester to Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg carrying around 500,000 passengers a year.
