Virgin add long haul Manchester flights
09.12.08
Virgin Atlantic is putting on more long-haul flights from Manchester Airport next summer, it has announced. It is expanding services from Manchester to Barbados and Orlando.
The airline will operate Saturday flights from Manchester to Barbados between May 2 and November 7, to add to its existing Sunday Airbus A340 departures to the Caribbean island. There will also be extra seats available between Manchester and Orlando in Florida, with an additional Sunday departure between April 26 and November 8, using a Boeing 747-400. This will give ten flights a week to the Florida holiday destination.
In addition, after the successful launch of its twice-weekly services between Gatwick and Montego Bay, the airline will now be adding a third weekly service on Fridays between Gatwick and Montego Bay in winter 2009. The flights will operate between November 13, 2009 and March 19, 2010. A twice-weekly Heathrow - Mauritius service will also resume for next winter on November 13, 2009, after stopping for the summer on April 25, 2009.
