Three men were injured after a mass brawl - during which rocks and bottles were thrown - outside Manchester Airport, the Messenger reports. Police were called to Airtax, the taxi feeder park on Ringway Road, following a report of a fight, with up to 30 men thought to have been involved.
Officers attended the fight at about 23:10 on April 5, and found that two men were severely bruised after being punched kicked. A third man went to hospital with facial injuries, and needed five stitches. Nine men were arrested on suspicion of affray. They were given banning notices preventing them attending the Airport pub or Manchester Airport.
Superintendent David Hull said: ‘This kind of incident is extremely unusual at the airport and we are absolutely determined to prevent any further incidents of this kind. Those involved should be left in no doubt that they will be brought to justice.’
