Ryanair flight suffers lightening strike

A Ryanair flight to Manchester Airport was forced to return to Dublin shortly after take-off yesterday after the aircraft was struck by lightning.
Flight FR554 from Dublin to Manchester had taken off shortly after 16:00 when the crew contacted air traffic controllers to advise them the aircraft had been hit by lightning. The flight landed safely about 30 minutes after take-off with emergency services to be on standby.
