Emergency landing for Jet2 Manchester bound plane
08.08.09
A Jet2 aircraft carrying 242 passengers from Tel Aviv in Israel to Manchester airport had to make an emergency landing in Budapest. The Boeing 757, flight LS 908, had taken off on Thursday afternoon when the pilots decided to make an emergency descent to ease pressure problems.
The aircraft touched down safely and passengers spent the night in an airport hotel, before a replacement aircraft brought passengers back on Friday afternoon. Passengers reported smoke and a burning smell but airline officials said the plane landed because of a problem with cabin pressure.
