Ryanair want to double Manchester Airport passengers
05.11.11
Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has said that he wants to double the number of passengers the airline carries from Manchester Airport in the coming years, the MEN reports. He was at the airport to mark the opening of the budget airline's new Manchester hub, which has seen the arrival of two aircraft to operate 17 new winter routes. This will rise to four planes and 26 routes by next summer.
Mr O'Leary revealed he is already in talks with airport bosses about increasing that further in 2013. He said that he hopes to have six aircraft at Manchester by then, with a view to growing the number of travellers Ryanair carries to more than four million.
He said Manchester was central to the airline's growth strategy, adding it will increase it presence there ‘as fast as the airport wants us to.’
