Manchester Airport picks perfect pre-flight song

Passengers using a new Manchester Airport lounge have voted a song by Elbow as the best pre-flight track. Since the Escape Lounge opened in the travel hub's terminal one last month, passengers have been asked to rate which songs help get them in the mood for a holiday, with Elbow's hit One Day Like This taking the top spot.
Members of band, which has had seven top 40 singles in the UK to date, were presented with a commemorative plaque at the Manchester Airport lounge before catching a flight to Majorca.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘We have done everything possible to create the perfect escape atmosphere for our passengers, including identifying the most popular song passengers want to listen to enjoy the start of their journey.’
