Emergency landing for Manchester flight
03.03.09
A Jet2 flight carrying British holidaymakers from Manchester Airport to Egypt made an emergency landing in Greece after the captain of the flight noticed a ‘potential fault’ with the cabin air pressure.
The Boeing 757 had left Manchester with 192 passengers onboard on Monday afternoon and was heading for Taba in Egypt when the crew took the ‘precautionary measure’ of making a ‘controlled, rapid descent’ to land in Athens. A couple and one child were taken to hospital and checked for what is believed to be ‘ear pressure’ problems before returning to the airport, a spokesman for Jet2 said.
