Lydd Airport campaigner’s councillor complaint
19.05.08
The Lydd Airport Action Group (LAAG), an organisation campaigning to stop the development of the airport, says that at a public meeting held at Lydd Airport on April 24 Councillor Paul Carter supported the proposed development of the airport despite Kent County Council (KCC) formally objecting to the planning application.
A spokesman for LAAG said that it has 'referred his inappropriate behaviour to Kent County Council’s Standards Committee.' She added that, apart from compromising his own planning officers, Councillor Carter’s comments could prejudice the voting attitudes of Shepway District Councillors when the planning application is determined later in the year.
LAAG believes that Councillor Carter 'should be reprimanded for inappropriate behaviour'.
