Luton Airport is the fastest growing major airport in the London area – and is second only to Heathrow for business travel as a percentage of total passenger numbers. For the first 6 months of 2011, passenger numbers increased by 11.3% and in 2010 19% of passengers were business travellers.
Glyn Jones, the airport's managing director, said: ‘We are very pleased with the substantial increase in the number of passengers choosing to fly via Luton. We have worked hard at listening to our customers, focusing on their requirements for modern day travel and investing in creating the optimum in fast, value for money travel in and out of London and north towards the Midlands.’
