First 777 for Luton Airport
28.03.10
El Al has become the first scheduled airline to operate a Boeing 777-200 aircraft into Luton Airport, Business Weekly reports. The Israeli airline usually operates its Tel Aviv - Luton route using 767, but ‘due to unprecedented demand’ a 777-200 was used on the route this week, increasing capacity by around 50 percent.
Said Uri Danor, CEO UK & Northern Europe, told the newspaper:’EL AL is proud to be the first scheduled airline to operate the 777-200 into Luton, especially when so many of our passengers want to get home for the holidays. We are sure that it will also attract more business passengers to Luton in the future.’
El Al switched flights from Stansted to Luton last year, and also offers a service from Heathrow using a mixture of Boeing aircraft depending on demand.
