Birds delay Luton Airport flights
23.04.11
There were delays and problems yesterday at Luton Airport, with two incidents caused by birds on the runway, Bedfordshire on Sunday reports.
According to the pilot of a delayed easyJet at Nice Airport, Flight 2122 was delayed by an hour due to Luton Airport being shut for 30 minutes. Passengers were told this was because of a Monarch flight having to make an emergency landing after take off due to a bird strike.
The Nice flight was then required to take off again on touch down at Luton. This manoeuvre, known as a ‘go around’, was again caused by concerns over birds on the runway.
