Silverjet, the Luton Airport based all business class airline, has parted company with its global sales and marketing director Katherine Gershon. The airline has carried out a restructure of its sales, marketing, customer services and IT departments.
Tamarah Khatib, previously head of global online marketing, becomes head of marketing whilst global sales will be overseen by Tim Buckman, formerly head of sales US. Georgina Scobling, formerly head of product and service development, takes on the role of head of customer experience. Bill Lowe, formerly IT support manager, becomes head of IT.
Ms Gershon joined Silverjet in September 2006 to be its launch and international development director before taking the title global sales and marketing director. She had overall responsibility for the airline’s website launch and marketing and was involved with M&C Saatchi in the development of the television advertising campaign that spoofed the famous British Airways ‘Face’ ad of t1989.
Silverjet has confirmed her departure but declined to give further details. The airline said following Viceroy Holdings' decision to invest $100 million, these changes were ‘in line with its business plan going forward, as it develops and expands into new markets’.
Lawrence Hunt, chief executive of Silverjet, said: ‘This is a very exciting time for Silverjet and we are currently restructuring some of the key roles in the company to reflect the new investment and to ensure that Silverjet continues to grow from strength to strength.’
